“Bicycle bicycle bicycle. I want to ride my bicycle…I want to ride my bike...I want to ride it where I like”

So crooned Freddie Mercury decades back in 1978! It’s March 2017, and we have an enthusiastic group of WSI Digital Marketing Consultants and cycling enthusiasts doing pretty much the same. The biking season has started with a bang for the WSI Cycling crew who recently participated in the Lowell 50 Classic Gravel Road Race, a 34-mile classic old world style trek that takes a mostly unpaved route along the banks of the Flat River and through rural Ionia County in the U.S. state of Michigan.

Proudly sporting their WSI-branded cycling gear, Eric Cook, Matt Wright, Katie Bridges, Danny Wolin and Kellie Sparks-Kramer battledbumps, bruises, cramps and flying water bottles to reach the finish line, having a ton of fun along the way. A major highlight for the WSI Cycling team was Kellie Sparks-Kramer riding her way to a 2nd place finish in her age group, thus putting WSI Cycling on the podium! A proud moment indeed for the whole team as was obvious from the applause and cheers from her fellow cyclists!

The team tell us that it was a wonderful way to bring in spring - especially after cycling through a downpour for the Founders Barry-Roubaix Killer Gravel Road Race that they participated in the previous month! Nowthat one was a real test of endurance for the spirited WSI Cycling team of Dwight Denisiuk, Kellie Sparks-Kramer, Jeff Cachero, Laura Stuchell, Matt Wright, Kevin Bridges, David Goff and Katie Bridges. Battling mudslinging dirt road surfing, fingers numb with cold and feet sporting soaking grocery bags, the WSI team flaunted their cycling skills on a classic gravel road featuring a whole variety of terrain and surfaces to complete that race! In spite of this, (and a nasty flu afterwards for one crew member), everyone is all geared up to make the best of the racing season that has just begun here in North America.

Eric sums it up well when he says, “As great as it is to participate in these races, I’d have to say the best part is always being with together as a team, cheering each other on (and, of course, the laughs and good times). It makes us bond, it refreshes and rejuvenates us, so we can get back to our jobs and our clients with renewed vigor!

At WSI, we are all so proud of this crew. This bonhomie, camaraderie and team spirit is the true picture that exemplifies our brand culture – we embrace better in all we do - whether we’re at work, or we’re having fun. Join us in applauding the team and check out the pictures and updates that the crew shares with us. Do stay tuned for upcoming updates as the team gears up for more exciting treks in the next couple of months!
